Email your Speech

If you choose to have your speech exported for email, the program sets you up to email a single workbook page. You open a workbook, record some speech on a page, add text captions if desired, and then click the button marked “Export Page” at the bottom of the screen. Now SentenceShaper will create an mp3 sound file (or, if you prefer, an mpeg video file) that contains all the utterances on that workbook page. This file will be placed in the Export Folder. It will always be named “SentenceShaperMessage“,  to make it easy to find when you go attach it to the email, as explained below.

How to email your exported file:

If you already know how to send attachments (like pictures) in your regular email program, then you can just open your email program and attach the SentenceShaper file like any other attachment. All you need to know is the location of your Export Folder. If you forget, just open the Export Settings folder and look at the bottom of the screen, where the location of the folder is displayed. Also, the program tells you where this folder is whenever you export your speech.

Here’s another way to email your exported file:  Open the Export Folder, locate the file you want to email, and then right-click on it. From the context menu that appears, choose the “Send to” submenu; then choose “Mail recipient”. (The wording may vary across different versions of Windows.) This will open a new email window in your default email program, with the file you selected attached to the email. All you need to do now is to pick the email recipient and send the email as usual.
